2018 Sale A Bration Blog Hop! Get Free Stuff!

Welcome to the 2018
Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop!

We hope you enjoy the projects we have posted for you today!  I'm happy to have been invited to join in with this great group of ladies!

Heartfelt Sentiments

I loved the design on the box pictured on the page with the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set on page 4 in the Sale-A-Bration catalogI used the box idea and made it into a card.
You can see product list I used for the card at the end of the post.

This stamp is so awesome!  It creates dimension with only one color of ink!

Cutting Dimensions
Crumb Cake:
  Card Base-5 1/2' x 8 1/2" (score at 4 1/4")
  Stamped Piece-5 1/4" x 4"
Night of Navy:
  Layer-5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
  Banner Piece-3/4" x 2 3/4"

Using the Heartfelt Blooms floral stamp and a Crumb Cake Stampin' Pad I stamped 4 times on a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock.

The stamped piece was layered with a piece of Night of Navy Cardstock on a base of Crumb Cake Cardstock.

1/2" Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon was wrapped around the layered pieces before adhering to the card base.

I used the Thank You sentiment from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set for my sentiment. It was stamped using a Versamark Pad and heat embossed using White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Night of Navy Cardstock.  Wiping the cardstock with an Embossing Buddy before heat embossing helps prevent stray pieces of embossing powder from sticking to your cardstock.

I used Paper Snips to flag the ends of the sentiment banner and the 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch to punch a hole in the opposite end. Using Linen Thread I attached the banner piece over the knot on the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon.

Moving Butterfly Card

My friend and downline, Tricia is visiting from Connecticut.  She came over and we played with the You Move Me stamp set & coordinating Move Me Thinlits.  We decided for a first card to CASE one that we found online made by Julie Davison.

In making the card we found that it is VERY important to make sure your stamping is straight so that it will line up with the lines in the die cut grid.  Otherwise the image doesn't appear to be fluttering on your card as you pull up the tab.

In order to have the ribbon wrap around the front of the card, the 1/8" Handheld Circle punch is used to punch a couple of holes side by side at the fold of the card. The 1/8" Sheer Ribbon will thread through the hole.

After CASEing Julie's card, I added a die cut butterfly for the corner from the Move Me Thinlits, a bit of the 1/8" Sheer Ribbon in Whisper White and 3 of the Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a little bling.  Below are all of the Stampin' Up! products I used in making the card.

Cards using Dapper Denim - My Favorite Retiring "In Color"

Dapper Denim is the one retiring 2015-17 In Color that I am going to miss.  I made sure I purchased a full pack of card stock and an ink refill to have on hand.  Below are two cards I've made using Dapper Denim as the focus.

Glitter Covered Dragonfly

I love the Dragonfly on this card.  I first stamped it using the Dapper Denim stamp pad. To make it shimmer & shine,  I tapped it with versamark all over and poured Heat & Stick powder over the entire dragonfly. Then I heated it briefly until it started to shine. Finally I sprinkled the dragonfly with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter. Very simple and it is beautiful!

Dapper Denim with Flourish

The Flourishing Phrases stamp set was used to make an all over background. I used Dapper Denim ink on Dapper Denim card stock.  The Flourish was then cut out of Vellum Card stock using the Flourish Thinlits.  I am so glad this stamp set & thinlits are being carried over into the next annual catalog!

For the inside of the card I stamped flourishes and left an area blank
for a stamped sentiment or handwritten note.
