Fall Leaves Cards with Rolling Marbles Technique Tutorial

It's Fall Ya'll!

A complete list of supplies used in the cards is posted at the bottom of this post.

I recently hosted a free Creative Backgrounds class for my customers.   At the end of the class we all ended up with a stack of "designer papers" to use in projects!

One of the techniques that the participants liked best was the Rolling Marbles Technique.  It is a great technique that you can do that isn't messy.   I used a piece of the "designer paper" made in the class for the cards above.

I kept the inside of the cards simple with a die cut leaf from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits set.  I used Cajun Craze cardstock for the leaf and Always Artichoke & Very Vanilla for the layers.   The space will allow for a handwritten note.

Below is a tutorial for the Rolling Marbles Technique.
Although I used the same ink colors in the tutorial, no two pieces of paper turn out the same.

ROLLING MARBLES TECHNIQUE TUTORIAL

Supplies Needed:
Ink Refills
I used Old Olive, Crushed Curry & Pumpkin Pie
Wide Stamp Case-Full Size
Marbles
Cardstock
I used Whisper White but Very Vanilla would be great!
Mini Glue Dots

Put a few drops of each color of ink inside one side of the stamp case.
I used 3 drops of each color.

Add your marbles to the ink side of the stamp case.  (I used 4)
Adhere your piece of cardstock to the opposite inside of the stamp case using a glue dot.

Close the stamp case and shake to cover the marbles with the ink

Flip the stamp case over so that the paper is now on the bottom and the ink covered marbles will roll over the paper to create your designer paper.
Keep rolling the marbles around until you like the design.

*If you would like to add more ink to your marbles, you can flip the stamp case back over so that the marbles roll through the ink.  Then just flip it back over to continue rolling ink on your paper.

When you are happy with your design, open the case and pop out your paper.
You may have enough ink left in your case to make a second design.  You can also add a couple of drops of ink to the case.

All done!  Your custom Designer Series paper is ready to use on a project!

Clean Up Time!
Clean up is super fast!  Simply rinse the stamp case & marbles under running water and dry with a paper towel or cloth!

NOTE: I cut away the outer clear cover on the stamp case prior to using to make clean up easier.

It's Paper Pumpkin Time!

I received some "happy mail" today!
THIS arrived!

The September 2017 Paper Pumpkin is Here!
Did you notice what is NOT on top of the Paper Pumpkin logo? My address label!  Now it is on the bottom of the box.  Thank you Stampin' Up!

"Layered Leaves"
I love that they now put the name of the kit & the date on the end of the box!
This is helpful when I have extra Paper Pumpkin kits that need to be put together. I know right away what is in the box.  Thank you again Stampin' Up!
When I opened the box there was a flyer about the October & November kits.
They are going to coordinate!  Wahoo!  From the looks of the flyer they will also coordinate with products in our Holiday Catalog!  Even better!

I LOVE fall products!
The set has beautiful leaf stamps along with 3 nice sentiment stamps as well!  BONUS!
This is definitely a stamp set that I will be able to use year round. The stamp set alone is worth the price of the kit.
The complete kit!
Have you ever wondered what is in a Paper Pumpkin kit?
THIS is all the parts in the September kit.  It has an instruction brochure with photos along with the written instructions. It includes a full stamp set and a stampin' spot ink pad that can be used over & over, all the accessories and specialty adhesives you will need.  It even includes envelopes for cards!
All you have to add is your basic adhesive and scissors!
You can follow the directions exactly or use your imagination and create something totally different.  Add additional personal supplies and the ideas are endless!

The kit price is $19.95.  Of that, $14.95 is for the actual kit and the rest is the postage to get it to you.  It's a pretty good deal!

Look at the awesome raised embossing on these pillow box favors & 3x3 cards!  These pieces can easily be cut apart and used as an embellishment or layer on a full size card!
Check out that beautiful copper & vanilla bakers twine!  There are always leftovers in the kits. I hope there is a lot of this bakers twine left over!

Video Instruction Every Month!
Every month Stampin' Up! puts together a video showing how to assemble the projects in the Paper pumpkin kits. Here is the video for this kit!
